Aunque, los sucesos dentro de la pel\u00edcula no son veraces, las t\u00e9cnicas cinematogr\u00e1ficas como v\u00eddeos caseros convencen al espectador de que si lo es. Por otra parte, cuando se trata de una pel\u00edcula basada en hechos reales, se sabe que la historia  ocurri\u00f3 en la realidad, pero incluye dramatizaciones y di\u00e1logos que difieren con lo ocurrido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Megan is missing <\/em>fue estrenada en 2011, aunque recientemente se viraliz\u00f3 en la red social Tik Tok cuando espectadores subieron videos narrando su experiencia tras ver la pel\u00edcula y pidieron a otros usuarios no verla.&nbsp;En Twitter se convirti\u00f3 en tendencia con el <em>hashtag<\/em> #Meganismissing. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El director Michael Goi, quien hab\u00eda trabajado en series como <em>American horror history<\/em> o <em>Glee<\/em>, advierte al principio de la pel\u00edcula pidiendo no verla sin compa\u00f1\u00eda o a medianoche por tratarse de un suceso basado en hechos reales. Cabe destacar que la pel\u00edcula fue censurada en Australia por las escenas fuertes de tortura y violencia sexual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el film se narra la vida de dos j\u00f3venes menores de edad que fueron secuestradas al conocer un hombre en Internet, causando conmoci\u00f3n por la violencia grafica y una escena de violaci\u00f3n con duraci\u00f3n de tres minutos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hace a\u00f1os hab\u00eda ocurrido un fen\u00f3meno similar cuando se estren\u00f3 la pel\u00edcula <em>El proyecto la bruja de Blair<\/em> porque convenc\u00eda a los cin\u00e9filos de que estaba basada en hechos reales. La estrategia de marketing que usaron para este filme fue dar a sus actores por muertos y pagando a sus familias para que no revelaran el secreto. Los usuarios se encontraban en su entonces cuestionando su veracidad a trav\u00e9s de foros de internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por su parte, <em>Megan is missing<\/em>, su estrategia  fue manipulaci\u00f3n y propaganda que hicieron a este falso documental pareciera real, esto se debe a las afirmaciones de miles de usuarios que explican entre l\u00e1grimas como fue verla. Las luces, ediciones y al tratarse de una experiencia tan cercana a la realidad actual son elementos que lograron posicionar a esta pel\u00edcula aun en nuestros d\u00edas como un hecho real porque es una situaci\u00f3n que viven las mujeres, pero narrado desde la experiencia colectiva y no sobre un caso determinado. Actualmente, El proyecto la bruja de Blair es considerada una pel\u00edcula de culto y Megan is missing contin\u00faa dando la vuelta al mundo con su estremecedora historia a trav\u00e9s de la plataforma YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div
