{"id":6966,"date":"2021-05-06T10:10:32","date_gmt":"2021-05-06T17:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/revista-escafandra.com\/?p=6966"},"modified":"2021-05-06T10:10:32","modified_gmt":"2021-05-06T17:10:32","slug":"avoid-gatherings-polaroids-sobre-la-pandemia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/revista-escafandra.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/06\/avoid-gatherings-polaroids-sobre-la-pandemia\/","title":{"rendered":"AVOID GATHERINGS: Polaroids sobre la pandemia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>En un punto perdido entre el presente y el futuro, los objetos de la pandemia se volvieron evidencia arqueol\u00f3gica y el aislamiento una forma de supervivencia en un medio ambiente t\u00f3xico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de este relato los proyectos de Aleyda Acu\u00f1a y Leticia Herrera establecen un punto de encuentro para combinar el registro de los \u00faltimos anuncios precautorios relativos a la pandemia en el vecino condado de San Diego, y la intervenci\u00f3n al archivo de im\u00e1genes de la misi\u00f3n a Marte de la NASA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/escafandrauabc.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/05\/172299178_1830460213779150_7130710620703560598_n.jpg?w=956\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7290\" \/><figcaption>Invitaci\u00f3n a la inauguraci\u00f3n de la exposici\u00f3n fotogr\u00e1fica AVOID GATHERINGS.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Partiendo de la casualidad, Aleyda Acu\u00f1a documenta en Polaroid sus encuentros reales con la pandemia en objetos como cubrebocas, o se\u00f1alamientos en los espacios p\u00fablicos y el transporte. Entre ellos, destaca especialmente un anuncio electr\u00f3nico del <em>freeway<\/em> cuyas recomendaciones han ido bajando de frecuencia e intensidad hasta aparentemente olvidarse del tema. El contexto del trabajo de Aleyda es el escepticismo de un sector de la poblaci\u00f3n norteamericana sobre el virus y el constante discurso presidencial desestimando las pol\u00edticas de prevenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El proceso creativo de Acu\u00f1a ha tenido como eje el traslado de la imagen digital a pel\u00edcula Polaroid y la experimentaci\u00f3n a partir de la repetici\u00f3n, desprendimientos de pel\u00edcula o transfer y otros procedimientos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leticia Herrera dialoga con Acu\u00f1a a partir de Un viaje sin retorno, una intervenci\u00f3n al archivo de im\u00e1genes de la misi\u00f3n a Marte de la Nasa y un intercambio con Leila Zucker, una de los cien candidatos elegidos en la primera misi\u00f3n para poblar otro planeta, el proyecto Mars One. Herrera construye una ficci\u00f3n a partir de las consecuencias de una cat\u00e1strofe que apenas comenz\u00f3 con el COVID. Leticia construye una narrativa sobre el futuro, en un mundo en el que todos los augurios sobre la cat\u00e1strofe ambiental y sanitaria se combinaron en un medio ambiente t\u00f3xico, estableciendo como norma de supervivencia las medidas de aislamiento que alguna vez se consideraron temporales. Leticia combina im\u00e1genes propias, el autorretrato y del archivo de la NASA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/escafandrauabc.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/05\/captura-de-pantalla-2021-05-06-10-07-42.png?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7292\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Una frente a otra, las piezas construyen una narrativa que enlaza lo documental con la ficci\u00f3n, con la fotograf\u00eda instant\u00e1nea intervenida digitalmente como soporte, el aislamiento como hilo conductor y las diferencias crom\u00e1ticas como elemento de contraste. El di\u00e1logo abre preguntas acerca del futuro en el contexto de un fen\u00f3meno global en v\u00edas de ser controlado, pero que semana a semana incorpora nuevos acontecimientos, y que adem\u00e1s solo es un s\u00edntoma de los errores cometidos por la humanidad en su relaci\u00f3n con el medio ambiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La interacci\u00f3n entre el documental y la ficci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n abre preguntas sobre el papel de la imagen fotogr\u00e1fica, que hist\u00f3ricamente parece estar ligada a la noci\u00f3n de verdad. Sin embargo, la imagen fotogr\u00e1fica no muestra la verdad sino que construye realidades, parcialmente ciertas o basadas en la mentira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acu\u00f1a y Herrera son egresadas de la Maestr\u00eda en Artes de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Baja California con proyectos ligados a las estrategias utilizadas en esta colaboraci\u00f3n. En <em>De lo digital a lo an\u00e1logo en Polaroid<\/em>, Acu\u00f1a desarrolla un m\u00e9todo espec\u00edfico de producci\u00f3n basado en el uso de la fotograf\u00eda instant\u00e1nea, mientras que Herrera, en <em>Un recuerdo ausente<\/em>, restituye memorias a partir de la recreaci\u00f3n de los recuerdos. En <em>Avoid Gatherings<\/em>, ambas artistas retoman un acontecimiento del que a\u00fan estamos lejos de hacer un balance sobre sus alcances y consecuencias. As\u00ed, aportan un testimonio que se sumar\u00e1 a la reflexi\u00f3n sobre los tiempos que nos ha tocado vivir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Avoid Gatherings<\/em> es una exposici\u00f3n fotogr\u00e1fica resultado de la colaboraci\u00f3n de Aleyda Acu\u00f1a y Leticia Herrera, artistas visuales egresadas de la Maestr\u00eda en Artes de la Facultad de Artes. El proyecto form\u00f3 parte de <em>Expolaroids<\/em>, una asociaci\u00f3n francesa dedicada a promover la fotograf\u00eda instant\u00e1nea que realiza un evento global cada a\u00f1o, durante el mes de abril.
